Intro to Magic: The Gathering

A Magical Gathering of Friends

Learn how to play the phenomenon that is Magic: The Gathering in a supportive environment. Make friends! Then destroy them on the mana fields! (idk what that means either, but we will learn together)

Ticket Cost: Pay what you can (suggested donation of $10-15)

For years, event organizer Lily Tanner-Hansen has wanted to learn how to play Magic: The Gathering. But she only wanted to learn if the conditions were right: in a cozy place with snacks where she would be encouraged, not scorned for her ignorance. She thought: surely, if I want to learn this game but not be condescended to or harassed, others must want this also. And she asked around and, lo and behold, other people wanted the same thing!

Thus, Lily’s quest was born! To create an event where people could learn how to play Magic: The Gathering and have fun at the same time! And also raise money for her beloved Empire Arts Collective.

Will you join Lily in this heroic mission? To learn a card game, eat food, make friends, and fundraise for EAC? If you think you are the right hero for the job, we’ll see you at the Magic table.

P.S. We will have loaner decks available – we have our best nerds working on constructing them for you.
