Kate Pratt (they/them) – Mary Woolley, Director
Kate has been a presence in the Sacramento theater community since 2010, after earning their BA in Theatre Arts from Humboldt State University. Comfortable on both sides of the curtain, Kate has experience in directing, stage managing, lighting and set design, as well as acting. Some of their favorite credits include Betty 5 (Collective Rage, Big Idea Theatre), Arsenic and Old Lace (Directing, Arden Playhouse), and Hair (Lighting Design, Ferndale Repertory Theatre). They also sit on the board for the Sacramento Area Regional Theatre Alliance (SARTA), and are thrilled to have recently joined EAC as the Out Loud program Co-director. Many thanks to this brilliant cast and crew, as well as my beautiful partner, without whom this show wouldn’t be possible.

Sunny Crego (they/them) – Jeannette Marks, Director
Sunny is honored to portray suffragist Jeannette Marks and also make their directorial debut in this production of BULL IN A CHINA SHOP. Past Sacramento credits include Vera in THE ODD COUPLE (Women’s Theatre Collective), Vick Wright in OUTER (Empire Arts Collective), Betty 4 in COLLECTIVE RAGE (Big Idea Theatre), Alyx in A FAMILIAR FEELING (Empire Arts Collective), Helen O’Toole in EXIT THE BODY (Rise Up Theatre Company), and many more from their home state of Minnesota. They are proud to be EAC Out Loud’s co-founder and hope this production brings pride and joy to the local queer community. Special thanks to their endlessly supportive partner, Kate, who helped make all of this possible.

Max Nova (they/them) – Pearl
Max is honored to have gotten to know Pearl, and come back to the stage with this crew. They are an aspiring playwright, with a passion for theatre (musical as well!). After getting some good training for a few months in New York City, Max is ready to play, and find themself along the way.

Paige Kelly (she/her) – Dean Welsh
Paige is a local performing artist known for her work with Light Opera Theatre of Sacramento and various other music groups. While her love of performing came from watching plays, this is the first time in 15 years that she has returned to the stage in one. She is excited to be joining Empire Arts Collective on such an important and relevant piece and looks forward to more performances with them in the future and a return back to her first love of the stage.

Rebekah Krum (they/she) – Felicity
This is Rebekah’s first return to the stage since their last high school show in 2014, and she’s very excited to be performing again. They have been an audience member at many, many shows in the meantime as they love storytelling in all its various mediums, theater especially.

Holly Zink (they/she) – Stage Manager
Holly is the Stage Manager for this production and is honored to be part of Out Loud’s pilot program! They started performing arts in elementary school with music and continue to do so as part of the Sacramento Pop Choir. Holly would like to thank their wonderful sister, spouse, friends, family and community for all of their support over the years. They hope you all enjoy the hard work and love put into this incredible show!

Sara Sturtevant (she/they) – Scenic Designer
Sara is a visual artist and scenic designer who creates meaningful, visually rich environments that deepen storytelling and draw audiences in. She’s thrilled to be part of Bull in a China Shop and to help shape a world as sharp, bold, and complex as its characters. Sara began designing at Empire Arts Collective as Art Director for devised productions like OUTER and Clementine Crusade, leading scenic design, prop fabrication, and costuming. She enjoys crafting multi-sensory environments using handmade elements, mixed media, and inventive materials to reflect character and theme.

Sandi Rose (she/her) – Lighting Designer
Sandi is thrilled to be lighting for Empire Arts Collective once again. Her past EAC credits include Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Once More with Feeling (2020), As Above, So Below (2022), A Familiar Feeling (2023), Outer (2023), and Clementine Crusade (2024). She has also designed for Bike City Theater in Davis and currently works with Big Idea Theater and Haus of Comedy in Sacramento. In addition, she serves as House Manager for Sacramento Pop Choir. Sandi holds a BA in Theater from Sacramento State. Endless thanks to her amazing husband, Cameron, for his love and support.

Tara Loughran Benavides (she/her) – Light Board Operator
Tara has been acting and singing since the age of six. After twenty years on stage, she tried her hand behind-the-scenes, and found that she loved that as well. She was deeply involved in the Southern California theater scene, contributing to productions with groups such as Comedy Tonight Productions, Ventura County Gilbert and Sullivan Repertoire Company, Ventura College Opera and Music Theater, Ojai Arts Center, and Camarillo Skyway Playhouse. Tara has slowed down since moving to Northern California, but she is thrilled to be back in the saddle participating again – especially with EAC Out Loud, which perfectly blends her love for theater and her queer identity.
