Session 1: Teen Improv Comedy Camp 6/10-6/21

Throughout each day, campers will engage in a variety of improv comedy and improvisational theatre exercises aimed at boosting confidence, teamwork, and quick thinking. Students will showcase their newfound talents at our end-of-camp performance.

Our daily schedule is packed with excitement, featuring everything from group warm-ups to improv skills lessons, all leading up to the big show. Plus, with flexible drop-off and pickup times, we’re here to support busy parents while providing enriching experiences for their kids.

8:00 AM – 9:00 AM: Flexible drop off: Crafts and warmups
9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Group warm-ups and exercises
10:00 AM – 10:15 AM: Break
10:15 AM – 11:15 AM: Improv skills lesson and exercises
11:15 AM – 11:45 PM: Lunch (picnic at Sierra 2 playground, weather permitting)
11:45 AM – 12:00 PM: Post-lunch warmups
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Improv skills lesson and exercises
1:00 PM – 1:15 PM: Break
1:15 PM – 2:50 PM: Games and showcase prep
2:50 PM – 3:00 PM: Reflection, cleanup, and wrap up
3:00 PM – 3:30 PM: Flexible pickup: Games and crafts

When:

• 6/10/24 – 6/21/24 (2 weeks, Monday – Friday)
• Dates off: 6/19/24 (Juneteenth)
• Performance date: June 21st, 6:30 – 7:30 PM
• Drop off time: Flexible drop off, from 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM
• Pickup time: Flexible pickup, between 3:00 and 3:30 PM

Empire LaunchPad at Sierra 2 Center, 2791 24th St, Room 13 (upstairs), Sacramento, CA 95818

Requirements:

Students must be between the ages of 12 and 17 to register. Tuition is nonrefundable. Students should bring their own lunch. Water, sparkling water, and snacks (snacks will meet EMSA Health and Safety Standards) will be provided for breaks.

Our venue is upstairs on floor 2. The building is wheelchair accessible (including the bathrooms and access to the second floor). Please let us know if you require any special accommodations ahead of time and we’ll be happy to help.

COVID Safety Requirements:

All students must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination (either vaccination card or digital record) via email prior to the start of class to be admitted.
